About

VanLife Pro is a directory of camper van conversion companies, built around one idea: you should be able to compare shops properly before you contact any of them.

What's on every listing

Working out who could build your van usually means opening thirty tabs and finding that half of them do not say what they charge. We put the things you would have had to ask on the page instead: which chassis they build on, what work they will actually take on, their certifications, published build costs, shop time where they state it, and the town they are in.

Why we list by state

Because a conversion is a destination purchase. A build takes months and two or three visits, and people cross state lines for the right shop without thinking twice. City pages would put one builder on most of them, which helps nobody. A state page only exists once there are enough shops in it to be a real comparison.

How builders are verified

A verified mark means we have confirmed the shop is trading at the address shown and checked any claimed certification against the register of the body that issues it. It confirms facts rather than ranking companies. A shop that opened last year and one building since 1973 carry the same mark.More on how that works.

Why there are no review scores

Plenty of directories scrape Google ratings and restyle them as their own. A number presented that way reads as though we verified something we did not, so we do not publish one. When ratings appear here they will be Google's, attributed, linked to the listing they came from.

How we make money

Listings are free and enquiries go straight to the builder. We take no cut of your build, charge no lead fees, and sell no placements. No builder on this site can pay to rank higher, appear in Editor's Choice or reach the top of a ranking, because none of it is for sale.

Coverage

The western states are deepest, because that is where the industry actually is. We are adding shops continuously. If yours is missing, send it to us.
