View shop17 shops converting vans in Colorado, from Arvada to Rifle. Every listing shows the chassis they build on, what they will take on and what it costs.
The densest concentration of van builders in the country, almost all of it along the Front Range between Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. Boulder and Longmont alone hold more shops than most states. Expect deep 4x4 and four-season expertise, and expect to queue for it.
Three shops worth a call, picked for different reasons. Editorial choices, and placement here is not for sale.
Best for Transparent pricing
Rifle, CO
Publishes firm figures and holds RVIA certification, which is rare at any price on the Front Range.
Best for In-house manufacturing
Boulder, CO
Manufactures most of its own components rather than assembling bought-in parts, which shows up years later in servicing.
Best for Buying off the lot
Boulder, CO
Keeps completed vans in inventory alongside commissions, which is unusual at this tier and the fastest route to keys in hand.

View shopBuilders are listed by state rather than by town because a conversion is a destination purchase, and people cross state lines for the right shop without thinking about it. These are the towns with supply.
We list 17 conversion companies in Colorado, spread across 11 towns and cities. That is the set we have researched and can stand behind rather than every business that has ever converted a van. If you know a Colorado shop that should be here, send it to us.
Published build costs among the Colorado shops listed here run from about $12k to $150k. Those figures are almost always for the conversion alone, so budget another $45k–$70k for the van itself unless the builder sources it for you.
No, and plenty of people do not. A build involves two or three visits over several months, so buyers routinely cross state lines for the right shop. Where local matters is afterwards: warranty work, servicing and the awkward fault two years in are all much easier when the builder is a day's drive away rather than three.
What the quoted price includes and excludes. Whether the queue in front of you is weeks or months. Who does warranty work and for how long. Whether they will service a van they did not build. And what happens to your deposit if you walk away. The answer varies far more than it should.
Worth widening the search, because the shop you want may be two states over, and for a build of this length that matters less than it sounds.
